are you a planner ? or a player?

We all have a desire to get out of the dissatisfied loops of our life. If you are like me, you love planning a lot.

During weekends, when my friends spend time watching movies I prefer to pass time planning in detail for my next career break. When next weekend comes up, I barely remember my last week's planned strategy. After some time again out of frustration I sit and plan something only to remain as just plan. My action part suffered every time. I was just a planner and still, I get the tendency to lose myself when I sit and start planning something. This plan-forget-plan loop was too exhausting for me until I figured out a solution.

I realized I was doing it wrong. Our lives are transformed as a result of daily habits woven into a routine. Even if you wanted a big outcome, divide it into actionable chunks. For example, I was not happy with my content production. I procrastinated and felt disappointed every time.

I valued easy-going life above building a life I always wanted. Then I set a target of 50 blog posts and 50 videos in 2 months. I wrote it on a whiteboard like this and hung it on my bedroom wall. After a while, this post is even a result of it, I felt I gained a sort of momentum.

Also, I broke it into a daily achievable target of one blog post per day and so far I exceeded my targets. It's going well. I will keep my updates posted. Now while lying on the bed daydreaming my 'someday great life', I started noticing my targets and it reminds of what to be done many times in a day.

The overall idea of this blog post is simply this.
  • If you have a big action plan which remains as a plan for a long time and you tend to forget it often, find a way to get yourself reminded of your goal.

  • Break your big goal into small achievable action steps.

  • Make yourself a commitment of no sleep unless you complete your goal of the day.

  • Find someone in person to you are accountable. I prefer a troubling friend who gives you no excuse at all.

  • Always a self-check for your values. Until you value real work above comfort nothing is going to change in your life.

I wish you all success in whatever you want to do in your life. Many things drawback us like fear, self-doubt, lack of clarity, low confidence, or no competence. When you keep things for later, ask yourself what's the real underlying cause. Most of the cases, reminding of your goals helps. But keep in mind, it's not a universal solution. Thanks, guys for being here, stay connected. I will keep you posted.

Always remember. Plans are good only if you stay in the game and keep playing to win no matter what.
